tough week

Esmaspäeval algas meil jälle VAPi jaoks planeerimine. Oma gruppides valmistasime kava ette kaheks nädalaks, mida järgida. Meil on siis hommikused tunnid (9-11.30) ja pärastlõunased (1.30-4.00). Meie plaan tavaliselt algab nii: alustame ringiga kus iga hommik anname küsimuse ja kõik vastavad ringis ning pärast venitame ning siis laulame oma team laulu ehk siis meie grupi (mis koosneb vähemalt 30 inimesest hommikul ja pärastlõunal ka) nimi on ‘Lobos Locos’ ehk eesti keeles ‘Hullud Hundid’. See oli nende nimi ka eelmine aasta niiet jätsime samaks. Meil on ka oma laul mida laulame iga päev ning oma logo mille ma valmisasin. Mõtlesin et milline on kõige lihtsam vim hunti joonistada, siis mõtlesin et Wolverhampton FC-l on hea logo ning copisingi sealt :D Igatahes, järgmiseks on meil tavaliselt mingi pool tundi ka akadeemiline pool kus teeme kas inglise keelt, grammatikat, matemaatikat või kunsti. Pärast seda koristame ja siis lähme välja jalkaväljakule mängima. Nad on eriti hullud jalka järgi niiet seda mängisime täna. Mängime tavaliselt paar mängu päevas, mis neile kõige rohkem meeldib. Pärast lähme sisse ja tavaliselt on neil väike snack, aga hetkel peame selle jaoks raha koguma. Peale seda on meil iga päev pool tundi lugemise aeg kus meie loeme neile raamatuid, sest nad on väga hullud raamatute järgi kuna neil kodus ilmselt üldse raamatuid pole ning eriti neile meeldivad pildid seal. Mulle lugemine täiega meeldib sest see on sarnane eesti keeles lugemisega niiet sellega pole probleemi, ning siin nad tavaliselt kuulavad ka sind, mitte nagu Kinderis kus nad üldse ei kuulanud kui õpetaja luges. Muide, minu VAP grupis on ka see üliarmas poiss kes vahepeal Kinderisse tuli, ja ta kirjutas oma nimekaardi peale ‘teacher, te quiero’ ehk ‘õpetaja ma armastan sind’ :D nii nunnu. Nad enamasti kutsuvadki mind nime pidi või siis teacher. Minu grupis on ka see üli intelligente poiss ja ta on nii lahe :D Koguaeg küsib ‘Kuidas läheb?’ eesti keeles ja kallistab mind. Igatahes, minuga ühes grupis on siis Evan, Amanda (Ameerikast mõlemad) ja Selina (Hondurasest).

Kolmapäeval oli meie esimene päev VAPis. Ma ei kujuta ette kuidas ma nende kõigi nimed selgeks õpin, mõndasid tean küll juba. Aga raskemaks teeb asja see et meie VAP grupis on kõige rohkem lapsi (muide vanus on tavaliselt 6-12) sest nad kirjutasid end sisse asukoha järgi ja meie oma on siis kõige lähemal enamusele vist. Et siis kolmapäeval oli meil hommikul ja pärastlõunal korraga 40 last!!! 20-30 oleks OK aga see on liiga palju. Mul on alati paar päeva vaja et sisse elada ning järgmistel päevadel oli juba parem.

Reedeti on meil päevad kus hommikul tulevad kõik VAP lapsed kokku ehk siis üle 100 ilmselt, ja teeme erinevaid asju. Järgmine kord plaanime korraldada Olümpiamänge. Ilus päev oli, kuni õhtuni oli päike, käisime rannas päevitamas teistega ja siis tulid lapsed ka sinna, enamus teavad mu nime juba :D Mängisime palli, ujusime vastuvoolu meres mis oli ülihea trenn, väga lõbus J See oranži peaga tüdruk käib ka minu VAP grupis muide, ta oli nii naljakas rannas. Ütles et päevitab ka ja siis peale 1-5 sek iga kord kui maha lamas ta muutis oma asendit haha :D

Lapsed on üldse siin niiii iseseisvad nagu öelnud olen. Mõned rääkisid et teiste VAP gruppide juurde tuleb vahepeal üks 3-4 aastane laps täiesti ise ja iga kord on tal kaasas mingi kohver mis on suurem kui tema :D :D Paljud tulevad jah täiesti ise kohale. Muide, mu grupis käib mu lemmik Kinderi laps ka, Milton :D

Reedel läksime veel La Ceibasse. Kui bussi ootasime ma tahtsin kiiresti poes käia. Üksi pole mingi problem päeval kõndida (sest siin on üldse kogukond kes ühte hoiab rohkem ja nad teavad kes me oleme), aga kui sa valget kleiti kannad siis minu jaoks küll eriti meeldiv pole poiste ja meeste komplimente kuulata, mis on alati täpselt samasugused :D Esiteks sa ei saa ilma tähelepanuta kuskil kõndida, aga kui kahekesi oled siis on parem , kuigi isegi siis kuuled.

La Ceibas läksin apteeki koos Xaviga kes on hispaanlasest apteeker Inglismaal. Niiet ta teadis täpselt mida on vaja mu köhale. Me saime aru et need apteekerid siin ei tea  mitte midagi eriti :D Ta pidi igat pidi küsima kuni lõpuks saime selle mida vaja.

Pizza Hutis mõtlesime ka mida kõige rohkem igatseme. Mina igatsen ilmselt kõige rohkem  sõpru, 4 aastaaega nagu öelnud olen, peret, tutavlikku Euroopaliku elustiili, rääkida inglise keeles lastega ja üldse suvaliste inimestega, mis teeks kõik palju lihtsamaks (kuigi väga hea on hispaania keelt õppida), Starbucksi, M&S, inglise pubisid, sooja vett vahepea kuigi see mind üldse eriti ei häiri. Kuigi nüüd on vihmahooaeg täies hoos ja iga päev sajab, 1-2 p nädalas on heal juhul päeval ilusad.

Üks päev oli üli naljakas kui ma oma saia pakkusin teistele sest ma eriti seda nagunii ei söö. Siis kui üks küsis et kas on OK võtta ja  teised vabatahtlikud me majas kuulsid ka ja kõik lõpuks võtsid järjekord et tükikest saada hahaha :D Hea sai on siin hinnas just nagu šokolaad mida eriti saadaval pole :D

Siin  kui takso tellid mingiks kellaajaks, sa pead neile helistama 100 korda sest esiteks nad pole kunagi õigel ajal siin, ning nad vahepeal tundub nagu unustaksid ja kui helistad hakkavad alles tulema.

Mul on ülinaljakas vahepeal toas elada kahe unes rääkijaga :D:D Nt täna öösel Stephanie ütles midagi hispaania keeles vist midagi nagu ‘quieres comer?’ ‘Si’ ehk siis ‘Tahad süüa’ ‘Jah’ :D :D

Muide, meil on üks hispaanlane siin kes natukene Messi moodi näeb välja ja nende VAP grupis nad ütlesid lastele et ta on Messi vend :D Sest kui nt öelda et ‘Messile ei meeldiks selline käitumine’ või ‘Messi küll midagi sellist ei teeks’ siis nad kuulavad ka haha :D

Nüüd ma olen jälle haige :-( Ma ei tea mis mul siin viga on. Kolmas kord juba. Võibolla sellepärast et nii niiske ja sajune on siin hetkel ja tuul, kuigi temperatuur ei kuku eriti 25st allapoole päeval.

On Monday we started planning for VAP again. In our groups we had to plan for 2 weeks that we are going to follow every day. In VAP we have morning classes (9.00-11.30) and afternoon (1.30-4.00). Our plan always starts with a circle together with the kids and then we give a question and everybody will answer in turns, it’s kind of like a team build up. Then we stretch and sing our group song  and our group name(our morning and afternoon group consists of 30 kids minimum every time) is Lobos Locos aka Crazy Wolves . That was their name last year as well so we kept it. I made the logo for our group as well, I was thinking which is the easiest way to draw a wolf and then thought about Wolverhampton FC so that’s where I copied it from :D Anyway, the next thing is academics usually after the circle, where we either do English, maths, arts or literacy. After that we go to a football field and play different games, sometimes football which everybody loves. We play couple of games with our group and then return to the class where they usually have a little snack, but atm we have to fundraise for it. Then we have a reading session for like half an hour. They really love books here esp with pictures cos most probably don’t have any books at home, and I really like reading because first of all they listen, not like in Kinder, and I have no problems reading in Spanish as it’s not much different from reading in Estonian. Btw in my VAP group there is this really cute boy as well who sometimes rarely appeared in Kinder but who goes to school. When we were making name tags he wrote on his ‘Ticher ti quiero’ which in bad Spanish is ‘teacher I love you’, so cute. They mostly call us either ‘teacher’ here or by my name. And in my group there is also that super intelligent boy. Every day he asks ‘Kuidas läheb?’ aka ‘How are you?’ and then he is really excited when I teach him new words. So in my VAP group there is also Evan (USA), Amanda (USA) and Selina (Honduras).

Wednesday was our first day then. I’m wondering how am I going to learn all their names, although I know some already. What makes it more difficult is the fact that we have the most children in our VAP (PS the ages varies from usually 6- 12) as they signed up according to the place where they live in. On Wednesday we had 40 + kids at once in the morning and afternoon, it was hectic. 20-30 would be better but that’s way too many. I always need couple of days to get used to new situations.

Fridays are the days where all the VAP kids come together we do something so I think there were 100+ kids and we do different stuff. Next time we are planning to make the Olympic Games. It was a nice day until the evening. Went to the beach to sunbathe and then some of our VAP kids came there as well, most know my name already :D So we played ball, swam against the sea current, really fun.  That orange haired girl who also is from my group was there as well. She was so funny, cos she said she is going to sunbathe as well so when she lied down next to me she managed to stay still for 1-5 seconds and then got up and changed her position again :D Funny to watch.

The children are soo independent here like I’ve said before. Some volunteers said that one 3-4  yr old boy comes to their VAP group all alone and he always tries to carry a suitcase that is bigger than him :D Most kids come there on their own. Btw my favourite Kinder kids is in my group as well, Milton.

We also went to La Ceiba. When we were waiting for a bus I decided to go to shop quickly. There is no problem walking alone during the day (as there is kind of sense of a community here and they know who we are), but when you are wearing a white dress it’s just annoying to hear those exact same compliments or however you want to call them, but that’s as far as it goes luckily. Can’t walk anywhere without attention. That’s why it’s better to walk together with someone.

In La Ceiba I went to a pharmacy with Xavi who is a Spanish pharmacist in England. So he knew exactly was necessary for my cough. We found out that these pharmacists don’t know really anything about their jobs. Xavi had to ask in so many different ways until we got what we needed.

At Pizza Hut we were thinking what do we miss the most. I miss my friends, 4 seasons like I’ve mentioned before, family, familiar European lifestyle, talking in English with children and other people which would make explaining so much easier (although I’m really glad I’m learning Spanish), Starbucks, M&S, English pubs, sometimes hot water but that doesn’t bother me here really. Although it’s a middle of rainy season now and we’re lucky to get 1-2 completely sunny days per week, so it’s not the nicest feeling to take a cold shower.

Btw, here when you order a taxi for a certain time, you have to call them 100 times, as they are never on time, and sometimes it seems they have forgotten to come anyway.

One of our Spanish volunteers looks a little bit like Messi so they told that he is Messi’s brother in his VAP group :D That’s a great way to make kids listen as Messi’s opinion is probably more important for them than God’s. So when to say ‘Messi wouldn’t like that behaviour’ or ‘Messi wouldn’t do that’ they listen :D :D

I'm ill again :-( I don't know what's wrong with me here. Third time already. Maybe because it's really humid plus it's raining a lot. Although the temperature doesn't drop below 25 degrees much, during the day.
